I've never understood Staycations. I haven't ever wanted to spend money just to stay around and relax. Couldnt i do that for free at my own house?

Well I have learned to love them. Working or not.

New Years eve was Malibu and this weekend is Palm Springs.

been relaxing poolside with some good reads and tunes

can't beat this view. My brother and my dad would die and go to heaven.

One of my new years resolutions deals with changing the small things in my life that will in the end make a big difference in who I am, so I am no longer going to be watching R rated movies. Which stinks because they have screeners....but since I have already seen Bridemaids, I may watch it with everyone tonight. Last night I watched Moneyball and was bored to death. And we all know there is no way I will ever sit through the Iron lady. I watched the Artist last week and turned it off after 45 minutes because i need audial stimulation, i guess. BORED.

Today will involve some swimming and sunbathing...I was only here for a few hours yesterday and i already got a little bit of color on my face. YESSSSSSS.

I have a testimony of gel nails. Of course the salon I went to was janky and had like 10 colors and most were nasty, so I ended up with this pink color but i dont hate it cause they are so soft and not chipping and i love it.

Golfing anyone? I guess the course we are staying on is a good one. PGA tour played here? Thats what my brother says. Inidian Ridge Country Club Arroyo Course.

The seats weren't saved, and we got their early so we could have a good seat. Turns out we were asked to move so that Nicole Richie could sit in my seat. Doesn't make it ok, and I am still mad, but if she gifted me a pair of House of Harlow cat eyed sunglasses, i would probably get over it.

I just love blondes. I guess I should probably dye my hair now.

Its a little after 3am on New Years eve, and I cannot, for the life of me, sleep.

I am exhausted. My eyes are twitching.

I have 2 tylenol PMs and 2 melatonin in my system.

What the heck?!?!?!

So here i am, blogging.

I am, at the moment and for the next few days, in Malibu....

Malibu is where its at, folks.

Except for this weird bedroom that I'm sleeping in. I cant get over the black and gold chair.

It has sarcophagus's on it.

I took the time to do my hair this morning, and I needed to document it.

My hair hasn't looked this good in probably weeks.

And this is the end of day, and I still liked it so I took a picture.

I'm a nerd.

This house we are staying in is AMAZING.

It is just about 7,000 square feet of the most beautifully early 90's decor.

Lots of statues and lots of marble and light oak.

This house, in its prime, was INSANE.

I mean, dont get me wrong, its still pretty rad.

I'll take some photos tomorrow...but for now its time to get back to my "happy new years" banner.

Its 3:15am so it only makes sense, right?

Movie Madness

When I moved to Los Angeles, I became friends with a bunch of movie snobs.

It seemed like all we did was see movies (they call them films).

I have always loved going to the movies, but now I think I appreciate it in a different way.

I've seen a lot of movies lately &

here are a few thoughts..

Muppets is a MUST SEE.

I didn't know what to expect, but I knew a bunch of my friends whom I trust, loved it.

So with two movie snobs, Greg and Kenny, I went to the Grove to see it.

It did not dissapoint.

Plus, Jeremiah from Rachel Zoe was there

so that was fun and hes just as darling in real life.

I saw the preview for Like Crazy when Ingrid Michaelson tweeted about her song

being played in it.

I instantly knew i wanted to see it.

Visually its a beauty, the story is really sweet at times, and i liked it....

but not, LIKE CRAZY.

My friend Peter told me about this movie last January when he saw it at Sundance.

It was one of his faves and I usually agree with him on movies.

I had no idea what this movie was about, just that it was crazy town.

Christine and I saw it, and well...it was INSANE.

Totally disturbing and i left feeling confused and a little bit anxious.

I have loved Michelle Williams since Dawson's Creek.

When i heard she was playing Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, I was a little skeptical.

She is a great actress but is she a Marilyn?

Turns out...Yes. Yes she is.

Her romance with a young boy is pretty boring and slow, but shes great.

And the young boy is so darling.

I would give the movie a B-.

It helm my attention but hardly.

Everytime one of these Twilight movies comes out I say I'm not seeing it.

I could care less about this series, but my girlfriends love it.

I went with Chelsie and Legacy to see Breaking Dawn and I laughed the whole time.

Kristen Stewart looks like a meth head and shes a bad actress.

The Descendants was great.

I loved everything about this movie.

George Clooney is such a good, sexy, actor.

The daughters were so believable.

Hawaii is pretty.

The relationships seemed real and human and I would see this again.

And the Muppets.

Defenitely seeing the Muppets again.

How to make Chocolate Covered Apple Bites - Yum!

I love everything mini (so does everyone).

And a caramel apple is a little bit too sweet and HUGE for my taste, and duh, I love Chocolate.

Tonight I made these. I've made them before and posted about it years ago but I still get asked how to do it and so here is a step by step. Its not hard, and it totally is a crowd pleaser.

Move over cake pops (barf).

----What you will need to make (roughly) 3 dozen apple bites----

-4 apples (i did 2 of green and 2 of red cause I am FESTIVE and cute)

-a melon baller

-dipping chocolate (i like to use milk chocolate)

-lollipop sticks

-toppings (this time i did cinnamon and sugar, graham crackers and mini semi sweet chips)

Ok so lets get started!

First you have to cut the lollipop sticks in half, slanted so they are pointy, little, paper, knives.

Next, after washing your apples of course, get out your melon baller and start going to town

let the apples dry up a bit on a paper towel so that the chocolate will stick better

Melt your chocolate

Stick each lollipop stick into each apple piece, skin side...obviously. (Not pictured)

Dip each apple into your chocolate and then immediately spoon on your topping (dont dip or they will look bunk, like the ones pictured...i forgot at first)

Let them sit in the fridge for 15 minutes to totally harden

Pack em up and ship them out!

Because if you don't you will eat them all.

Don't try to be a hero and do caramel, cause it WILL NOT STICK.

And don't say I didn't warn you when you decide to try it anyway like a total dummy.

I just finished Bossypants by Tina Fey this morning and I was curious as to what her husband looks like.

Uhh...hes teensy.

I looked it up and she is 5'4" and he is my height, 5 ft.

I always find it fascinating to see men with women who are taller than them.

I don't think this is ever something I am going to have to worry about, unless I decide to date a 10 yr old, but I would like to think i wouldn't care (i totally would care)? The shortest guy I have dated was 5'7", and that was fine cause i could still wear 5 inch heels.

KR and Nate got married on Saturday in Newport and then had their reception and ring ceremony in Costa Mesa in the most beautiful backyard that you've ever seen.

It wasn't hard to decorate when its already so pretty and basically built for receptions.

I love KR. Love Nate. It was a great day, everything went really smooth....

Roxanne asked me back in May to be her wedding planner...and one of her bridemaids. 2 things I have never done simultaneously.

It proved to be quite the impossible task...but was pulled off miraculously (not without help!)

Here are a few pictures from the wedding...

The night before the wedding i was up until 4am, getting everything in order including all the artwork

which you will later hear about...nightmare

these two were scribbled out at probably 3am, just to fill the last two frames, and they turned out to be my favorites.

The day of, i got up at 8am to meet the rental company. As soon as the tent was up I wanted to be able to start bringing in all of my stuff.

The day was GORGEOUS...until 2. I had been working on my hanging gallery wall, of all the art (we wanted to have an art gallery of paintings and drawings of the couple done by friends and family), for about an hour or two when the rain started coming down...and HARD. I had to scramble to disassemble the wall before all the artwork was completely ruined. It was devastating to me. I don't think anyone else really cared, and we did find easels and places to place all the art, but my pride and joy of the reception had to be scraped :( And the rental company had to come and put up HIDEOUS white plastic walls. IT WAS UGLY and again, no one cares but me.

the tables were covered in candles and flowers and bottles. Most every table had a "W" (new last name is Wise), an antique horse as a nod to Roxanne's equestrian life, and a small drawing or painting of the couple. The archway was made up last minute. The paper flowers were supposed to climb the metal poles of the inside of the tent, but...paper and rain just do not mix. END OF DEVASTATING STORY.

i just love Roxanne so much and am so excited for her and Todd, both.

I had never met Todd until the day before the wedding, and I can just honestly say he is perfect for her.

Listening to him speak at the rehearsal dinner and the things he had to say about my little kitty cat, just made me cry (i know you think its nothing since i cry at everything from Lamar's tweets to Beyonce's pregnancy-I'm emotional these days guys! get over it!) and I just know he will take such good care of her and their family. He's the real deal, guys, and hes pretty hot too so theres that.

The reception didn't go off without a hitch. I wish it would have gone smoother and that the rain would never have happened. The good thing is that it was as pretty as we could make it and that everyone thought it was the bomb, even though I secretly was holding back stress tears all night.

As we went to set up the site that morning, my sister was like "this is so nice!" and we started talking about how her reception was in someones backyard and wasnt heavily deocrated, and no tent, and none of the bells and whistles...and then we decided, WHO CARES?
It's about the marriage, not the details.
But for the planner its about the details and i feel like a big ol Loser because of that rain.

Lemonade

When I first moved to LA I lived in the Venice area, and my roommate Gabrielle and I would often do exploring. We found the cutest place on Venice and Abbot Kinney called Lemonade .

It was easy for me to love. I LOVE lemonade. And i love good food and i LOVE LOVE LOVE a good logo and branding. This place has it all.

My cuz Alyssa called me today while I was at work saying she was in LA waiting around for a flight (shes a flight attendant so this happens often), so after work I rushed to LAX to grab her to have some dinner. We ended up at Lemonade.

I ordered the Blood Orange Lemonade, Alyssa went with Cucumber Mint. Mine was better, but I already knew that since I have had them all.

Have you ever seen a happier girl?

The Macaroon cookie was so big. Thats only half of it in my palm. We went with chocolate and also a lemon meringue pie. Delicious.

Oh my gosh its SO good.

I had a run in with Jenny Jones on Friday night.

We went to the beach today and it was apparent that summer has ended.

I wore a blazer tonight and moccasins.

I've been eyeing wool pants and sweaters and Halloween costumes.

Who cares, i love FALL!

-Celebrated Cami's birthday tonight at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles.

I can't believe i have lived in LA for almost 3 years and have never been there.

Anyway, Chicken and Waffles is a real good combo.

-I've watched Tangled 4 days in a row on streaming Netflix, and no, not with any children.

-My sister sent me her old iPhone in the mail today.

It's sad how much i missed Instagram.

-Went dancing last night with a big group of friends and randoms at this bar on Sunset and had a drunk girl ask me to come dance with her, but before she could ask me and Gabes, she fell out of one of her shoes and into our arms.

Another chick was full on wearing nude shapewear as a dress and i most def saw her vag.

And lastly, Chelsie taped a guy throwing up all over himself and then i almost sat in it. ALMOST.

-I have a testimony of Zappos.

Because of a mistake of mine, a pair of shoes i got were replaced and then comped for free.

Seriously. AWESOME.

-I was sent a flatiron from a celebrity makeup artist in New York to try.

SO awesome and fun.

She also sent me some amazing Nexxus product that has seriously revived my hair, which by the way is now almost to my butt which is just UNACCEPTABLE and gross.

I will be cutting it soon, don't worry.

I will be posting soon about said flatiron with a link of where to buy it and probs a before and after of my long polygamist hair.

-Loving that its fall, loving September...that means almost Christmas!

Michael's has their Christmas stuff out already...makes me so happy.

-Getting closer and closer to my kitty Roxannes wedding!

I am excited to get to Utah to see her and meet her fiance.

Before I moved to Los Angeles, I had a subscription to US Weekly.
I did celebrity gossip on the radio show Your Time with Kim.
It would have been the most exciting day of my life if I ever saw from afar, a "celebrity."
Now, not so much.

But this is what all of my friends out of state and at home want to hear about.

I have met countless "moviestars" and "rockstars" over the last couple of years here and really, who cares...

I met David in a private home in Beverly Hills. I was there for an interview with an assistant who was ushering me to the back guest house so we could have a private minute to chat.
She opened the door and sitting right before us, magically, was David Blaine.
How i even recognized this guy, im not sure.
The assistant said "i didnt even know you were here!"
and i thought, "duh...hes a magician. He just appeared, dummy"

I should seriously work for TMZ cause i can spot a famous person from a mile away.

Mary Carey; adult movie star

About 6 months ago I was at Pinz on Ventura in the middle of the afternoon (i was working-i'm a nanny in case you're new) bowling with the kiddies, and there was literally no one else in the place except us and Mary Carey.
She was bowling alone.
It was so weird.
I wouldn't have known who she was if it wasn't for her stint on Celebrity Rehab, and even then, i couldn't remember her name and had to consult my sister.
Who goes bowling mid-day by themselves?
So strange.

I was in an elevator with this lunatic.
Just her and I, in a building on Sunset...i was picking up a check from a big entertainment company and she was in her workout gear, checking herself out in the mirror and GROANING.

I loved every second of it.

I have met some insanely talented and insanely famous people, but these guys are my favorite.
They are such a strange breed of crazy.

High School Mean Girls

When I was a sophomore in highschool, my friends and were eating lunch in the quad outside and saw something horrific. A popular freshman girl was using her makeup compact to reflect the sun into the special ed kids eyes. It disturbed me. I then watched as a young boy who had special needs, took the trash can around to make it easier on people to throw away their gargabe...and she threw her pasta bowl (if you went to folsom high, the pasta bowl was EVERYTHING..so delicious. no sauce, just parm. YUM) at the boy and totally humiliated him while her and her friends just laughed and laughed. It infuriated my friends and, and its times like these I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. We told her off. We were older than her and we thought we were totally more mature and obviously nicer...but we let her have it. She left feeling pretty dumb, but she never apologized to the kids she was hurting.

That made us real mad.

We then went home from school, took a bunch of tampons out of their wrappers and painted the tips red (so gross) and then taped them all over her locker with a sign that read "You are a dirty tampon." We thought she deserved this and that our actions were justified.

Well I dont know when, but she left school and started homeschool. I always felt sort of bad, and hoped I wasnt part of the reason she left school. And then i forgot about it.

A few years passed and AOL was in FULL SWING. I found her on there and we had an AIM conversation and i apologized and she was now living in Portland with family or something and that was that. No hard feelings, whatever.

Well I just got off the phone with a friend of mine from HS who was in on our tampon joke...and she tells me that this girl is now a millionaire and owns this huge vintage fashion store and shes huge.

I shouldn't even say this outloud but i'm sort of jealous! She never apologized and I did and now shes awesome.

I'm mostly joking so dont go blowing up my comments about how its all fair in the end or how i need to grow up and all that crap, because i already know.

Anyway i want to tell you what the website is and what her name is but i obviously cant now cause that will make you never want to support her and she has some pretty great clothes that i actually already have supported in the past. I DONT WANT TO RUIN IT FOR YOU.

my baby brother is a dad.
I can't explain what these photos do to me...i'm obsessed with them.
It doesn't seem like that long ago (and really, it wasn't) when Jordan didn't know how
(mostly he just didn't want to) to make macaroni and cheese on his own,
or make juice from concentrate-and now he has a kid.
A freaking cute kid, that I know has the greatest parents in Kristine and Jordan.

I cannot wait for the weeks to fly by until I go to Utah and get to meet this baby and see my brother as a daddy.

Week from Hell

This past week has been a dooooozy.

Being poor sucks. Tooth pain is the WORST, and having my iPhone go missing just really takes the cake.

Instead of feeling sorry for myself though, I'm going to just be grateful.

-My DVR taped a million episodes of Flipping Out so that's a win.

-Antibiotics and pain killers really are so fantastic.
Having a friend as an Endodontist that i can just call at midnight to call in Vicodin for me
was SERIOUSLY a life saver cause I kid you not,
I was like THIS CLOSE to getting a hammer and shattering my tooth and pulling it myself.
Would have felt better.

-I have AMAZING friends and people in my life.

-The Help was an excellent, EXCELLENT, movie.
sidenote on this, having raised other peoples children this movie really hit home
in a lot of ways and was also so delightful and lovely and i just really loved it (saw it twice)

-Jack in the Box has their large sodas for 99 cents right now
and i DEFINITELY have been taking advantage.

-I saw Justin Bieber at the Grove on Monday.
Thanks to my friend Chelsie for running into the bathroom and yelling into my stall
"JUSTIN BIEBER IS OUTSIDE, HURRY!" Hilarious.
Everyone in the bathroom ran out to see. So so funny. Also he is small. Very teeny.
Maybe i am really 14 cause that was by far my best celeb sighting and I also saw David Arquette
and his daughter Coco in the same outing and i usually think he is such a babe but i couldn't have cared less
cause DUH, i have Bieber Fever majorly.

-Glad to have a crafting stash so that when i am antsy and feeling uninspired
i can just create something and be grateful for the talents that I do possess
and stop feeling sorry for myself.

Spent Saturday in South Central at the Family Living Fair.

I was also able to babysit little Lyla on Saturday morning while her parents went to a wedding.
MAN SHE IS SO CUTE.

Back to South Central on Sunday to the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist church with our ward.
They fed us the most delicious BBQ food in the world. The banana pudding wasnt so bad either.

I don't understand it. You have someone take pictures of your outfits everyday and then write underneath the million photos of you "modeling" telling us where you got them? I seriously don't understand this.

And its not really that I think you all have bad taste (sometimes, yes, mostly..no) but I just get so embarrassed looking at 4-5 pictures of these normal chicks, just posing and patting themselves on the back for having, what they think, great outfits.

It is so strange to me. Maybe I just don't think about clothes that much, or maybe i just don't have the lady balls to put myself out there like that...whatever it is, its weird. It seems narcissistic? I don't know.

You know how they say most accidents occur close to home? I was 2 blocks away from my apartment, when a middle-aged, Hispanic, man named Raul decided to U-turn from the right lane, right into my passenger side door. What an idiot he is.

but I guess the jokes on me because I've been car less since Friday, and I'll be car less until Monday.

Carrie had a birthday, and we celebrated it over the 4th of july weekend.

i just love this gal. And wow, my hair is getting polygamist-long.

Speaking of my hair..

isn't it pretty, though? I'm never going to cut it. I'm just going to start braiding it, and sitting on it, and then I'll be able to use it as a blanket and then maybe I will cut it off at my butt cause after its as long as my whole body I don't think I would be able to go to something as short as a bob, or even mid-back. That would be too traumatic. BABY STEPS PEOPLE.

One of my friends from High School invited me to go with her to a private, exclusive, party in Malibu in the backroom of a fancy hotel. I said I would go and then later regretted it, but I was a good sport and a non-flake anyway and went.

She tried to sell me on the fact that "there will be a lot of successful men there" and of course the only "men" i found attractive, was the bartender (he gave me a free diet coke, wink!) and the DJ. I tell you what, I'm destined to be poor.

Did anyone like Mervyn's before they went under? I know i never did (maybe i did when i used to get the cheetah brand bike shorts in all those fly colors back in the 4th and 5th grade). I remember after a soccer tournament of mine, my mom made me stop at the Zinfandel Mervyn's for some dumb reason. I was so mad. I remember being so mad. My mom said I should pick out a bra and instead of being happy for a free bra (mom, anytime you want to buy me a bra now, I WILL GLADLY ACCEPT) i decided to yell "I HOPE THIS PLACE BURNS DOWN." Mature, right? Well before you judge me, I think i was probably in 7th or 8th grade. I would totally never do that now. Anyway...back on track. Kohl's is the new Mervyn's, right? Well my friend Christine somehow found out Kohl's has some pretty fly outdoor furniture that she NEEDED and for some reason she decided I was the gal that got to drive with her all over southern California searching for all the pieces (she bought 15 pieces, you guys. Chairs (3), couches (3), ottomans (2), umbrellas (2), benches (3) and a dining room table. SHE DOESN'T MESS AROUND).

At first i thought it was kind of funny. You know, at the first Kohl's we hit up in Monrovia. I thought, "cool, they have a Lauren Conrad line! That's sort of fun." WRONG. Not fun. I hit up 4 of the 8 stores she went to. HOURS OF MY LIFE GUYS. Let me tell you one thing, too. Kohl's employees are lazy. Lazy idiots. It's not dramatic for me at all to say this....
I hope Kohl's burns down.

I saw this yesterday on Sunset in Hollywood.

Gross, right? Is it a prince or a princess? Who knows. But my friend made me photograph it, and she assured me "it" wouldn't see me...WRONG. I got a good yelling at, from "it" along with some really X rated hand motions, which lead me to believe it=man.

Bloomingdale's projects movies onto its side on Wednesday nights, i guess.

This time it was Zoolander and all the people were sitting outside at the food court watching it. They know its on TBS at least twice a week, right? I got my Panda Express and then got the hell out of there to go see Horrible Bosses which was HORRIBLY CRUDE and also deliciously funny.

I went to my first red carpet event. Obviously it was for work, because there is no way in H i could pay 2,500 dollars to eat steak and drink water (the mashed potatoes were BOMB).

I can't even tell you what the event was, like it matters, because its confidential. But i will tell you this....BORING.

The last photo purge is this HUGE stencil in Sherman Oaks on Van Nuys. I am 99.9% sure its not a Banksy, but just in case it is I thought i should photograph it.

Its on the side of some generic pharmacy called "Gary's pharmacy" or something like that so it's not a really hip bank or government building. I guess I'll never know, unless of course, someone knows and wants to tell me.

Its 2am and my Mexican neighbors are out in the alley smoking their weed and honking their horns, so thats my cue to try to sleep.

I enjoyed the 4th of July this year in the patriotic city of Beverly Hills.

Started the day off blowing up rafts and watching the Casey Anthony trial.

Made a salad with my girl Christine, i was in charge of cutting the bell peppers.
THEY WERE A RAINBOW!

We swam all afternoon, ate hot dogs and grilled corn. It was perfect.

Ended it all with s'mores and girl chat around the fire pit with "How to Love" by Lil Wayne on repeat.

It was the best 4th in a long time.

I went to Santa Barbara yesterday for the first time ever.
I pretty much fell in love with it there, who wants to go back with me (soon)?

I met Randy years ago through my friend Michael, and we quickly became friends. We went on roadtrips together (Randy is my roadtrip soulmate because neither of us likes to keep a schedule, we dont feel the need to always be talking and frequent stops and detours are welcomed...i hate roadtrip nazi's), had frequent gchat convos and many trips to Coronado island to visit him.

When Randy started dating Alycia, i only heard fantastic things about her and when i finally met her I instantly loved her. They are perfect for eachother and after what seemed like eternities of dating (i think it was a year and a half, 2 years maybe?) they finally got married yesterday.

I was so excited that Alycia asked me to do her hair for her big day...she is a serious, porcelain doll and was SO relaxed a laid back, it was so easy.

they were married in the morning at the LA temple and then later on had a ring ceremony and reception in Santa Barbara...

how smokin' of a bride is she? Cutest little body you have ever seen.

Brain Dump

I cant believe June is almost over. That is insanity.
and now here are the rest of my thoughts.
They will probably be all over the place, as it is 1:22am

-Like i said, its 1:22am, WHY AM I STILL WEARING JEANS?!

-One of my bestest friends is getting married, and guess who she asked to plan her wedding?
ME!
I'm excited. I'm ready to jump back into planning.
It's going to be good.
I'm also a bridesmaid, which i would normally not be thrilled about (no one wants to be a bridesmaid) but since I am the planner, this means i have a say in the dress, and the overall feel and style of the wedding...so i'm kind of excited this time.
Trying to convince her on this dress.

-Went to hot yoga last week.
Lets just say, im not a girl that "glistens"

-Did anyone else see the Voice and wonder who Christina Aguilera's stylist is?
What is going on with these mini braid explosions?

-The bachelor is the most boring show on tv right now. It feels like blasphemy to even right that, but its true.

-I have a new nephew (this deserves its own post and it will someday, promise)

-I got a pair of harem pants from anthro (on sale in the lounge section) a while ago that i forgot about and I just barely found them again and next time i wear them I'm wearing them with heels. They are made of cotton and they are basically sweat pants but with shape.
And i am not kidding about wearing them with heels, either.

-I put my hair in a really high ballerina bun today, and slowly throughout the day it drooped into what i call "Nikki from big love, minus the braid."
NOT CUTE.

-Made hot sauce for my boss for fathers days from his boys.
They made the labels.
It turned out cute, but man. Making hot sauce is not fun.
I think if i did this again, i would probably just buy hot sauce and then sneak it into new bottles.

yeah so i think i will go to sleep now. Or atleast take these jeans off.

Fruit and cookie tacos

Had a sweet tooth today, and wasn't in the mood for chocolate.

Enter Pinterest.

I pinned these sugar cookie tacos a few days ago and have been thinking about them since.

Here is my version.

I wasn't quite sure how to make the taco shape, so with a little bit of research and some thought, i came up with using a roll of wax paper and a roll of foil to place the cooling cookies on.
Worked like a charm.

They were a huge hit.
The kids ate them happily, the adults didnt feel THAT bad eating them cause they are drenched in fruit.
(the frosting was cream cheese, cream, powdered sugar and strawberry yogurt)

SO GOOD.

Recently they made me a VIP member which means i get free 1 day shipping and i don't pay tax.

AND i found out my friend works for zappos, and he gave me a coupon code and so now I am even more obsessed with the zap.
Got my swimsuit there, my makeup, toys for my nephews for their birthdays, baby clothes for my sister in law....they have it all.

-Redken Anti-snapI cannot stress this enough...this conditioner is a MIRACLE in a bottle.
Every time i start to notice a million split ends i break this stuff out.

You see, he just graduated from dental school.
Sort of a huge deal.

I love going to parties where the host obviously put some effort in.

I am so obsessed with the song 1+1 that Beyonce sang on the American Idol finale.

its so romantic and has so much drama in it...and duh, i love her.

So obviously when i saw this video that her husband JayZ posted on his blog, I wanted to die again cause its the cutest thing ever. If i was a famous, grammy winning singer with a rapper husband, i would hope he would be proud of me and would tape me practicing before Idol and post it.

She has the most insane voice.

I have this friend who is on a tv show (dancing with the stars, maybe you have heard of it?) and so when she goes to Disneyland they give her and her guests a "guide" that takes you through the exits on every ride, so you don't have to stand in line. Uh yes. This happened folks.

-The scooter below is NOW GONE. I sold it tonight.
I bought it last saturday and crashed into a fence on my way to work on Monday. Whooops.
The man who bought it was wearing a TON of cologne and I still smell him and i didnt even touch him, and its giving me a headache.

-The Bachelorette is on right now, and i am already loving it.
Ashley H is boring-city, but these guys are AWESOMELY ridiculous and idiotic and i am so happy.
What is with that guy and the mask...he looks like he is going to be sort of handsome.
Too bad hes a total weirdy, ya?

-I'm moving this weekend. UGH.
I hate moving. I have moved a bajillion times and it never gets easier.
I am really going to miss this building.
Its so pretty and new and fancy and I don't know when I will ever be able to live in a luxury building like this again.
The building I am moving into is nice, its just not the taj mahal that I'm in now.

-It seems like everyone on facebook has all these adorable pictures with their mom from when they were little.
The only one i had on my computer was me and my mom at my high school graduation.
NOT AS CUTE but it will do. LOVE YOU MAMA.What did you get your mom?

-My friend Corina is the master of funny Internet videos.
She sent me this tonight and I have watched it a handful of times already

be careful though, there is a pretty good f-bomb in the middle.
I love how that little girl says "squirrel"
It also makes me lose my mind a little bit that these parents just let their child play with a dead rodent.
I mean shes rubbing her body with it. ITS SO GROSS.

-I saw "Something Borrowed" twice this weekend.

-Going to Magic Mountain for work on Friday.
Not even mad about that at all.

-No secret, I loved Michelle Money from the Bachelor.

I mean, i know how to curl my hair. Common sense and Von Curtis taught me that.
But i did try her way tonight, she thinks sectioning is key so i tried her technique and i like it just fine.

-I'm off gluten again, and I have been doing a pretty good job.
I'm also off dairy.
Silk soy milk is actually pretty tasty, so I think that I'm good, because I can still eat cereal.
And the soy cheese from Trader Joe's is pretty good on my gluten free, pesto grilled cheeses.

-I now am carrying around 2 phones. My personal iPhone and a work Blackberry.
It blows. I hate it with all my heart.

-I am doing a brides hair for her wedding here pretty soon, and we did a trial run at my place tonight.
I love hairstyling. I love working with brides. I think I may start doing this more...
we'll see.
I set up a little mini workstation in my room today for the consult tonight.
Pretty ghetto but it got the job done.

oh and i also burned my arm pretty bad with the curling iron. I was doing my makeup and leaned into the SCOLDING hot tip. Lovely.

-I own the Kardashian Sillybandz and no, i don't wear them.
I'm not really sure what the point is, but i love pop culture so whatever.

-Filled the ol SUV at work the other day....

So glad it wasn't coming out of my bank account!

-In case you were wondering, I went with bathing suit #6.
#1 was my first choice, but i basically already have the same suit in black (sans belt)

My 2 cents on the Royal Wedding

I thought I wasn't going to care about the Royal Wedding, but turns out...i totally did.

-First things first. Kate Middleton is SO BEAUTIFUL. Seriously folks. She is stunning and not in a model-esque type of way but in the really pretty and normal kind of way, like a British Katie Holmes but without being totally weird.
-Next, if you're going to wear a hat, make sure its a normal looking cute one. Like this Princess from Spain, or whatever she is. Also i love her dress. Those princess cousins were like ugly stepsisters and their fascinators were outrageous and gross. On the Fashion Police on E!, Joan Rivers said one of them looked like they had an IUD on their head, and seriously, its true. I am not going to post those pictures because I'm about beauty over here, I'M NOT A MONSTER.
-OK maybe I am a monster...i thought this little girl was handicapped(shes obviosuly not, and it was brought to my attention that this joke, wasn't funny. You guys don't really think that I make fun of handicapped kids or speculate that kids have mental illnesses, for real, right????) I am sure she is DARLING and HAS THE FUNNIEST PERSONALITY but really, shes destined to wear an IUD hat (true), folks. Does she have irises in her eyes or are her eyeballs also flesh colored (it looks like she has flesh colored eyeballs, also true)?
I'M TOTALLY A MONSTER. Sorry.
I did say that i am sure she is darling and fun. NOT ALL KIDS ARE CUTE on the outside. Duh. But they are defenitely ALL CUTE on the inside.
-Top 2 moments for me were 1) when Prince William leaned over and said to Kate, after her long walk down the aisle, "You look beautiful."
And 2) when he leaned in for the second balcony kiss and she giggled for a second.
Want to know why those were my favorite moments? Because they were human. The rest of the whole ordeal was just not emotional enough of for me. I WANTED TEARS. Every wedding I have been to, the couples who love each other show it with a little bit of waterworks during the wedding ceremony. I mean GOSH! Why are British people such robots?!? Am I right, or am i right?
-Kate's McQueen dress was obviously stunning. I really am a sucker for a wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline. They keep saying everywhere that it was a "plunging neckline" and I don't get it. PLUNGING? really? I wonder what would be said about my Jcrew vnecks that i wear everyday...I must be seriously slutty if that is plunging.-The showstopper though for me was Pippa and her dress. First of all, Pippa, you're a DOLL. Look how cute her figure is! And also, what a good sport for carrying her sisters train for like 30 minutes (slavery). Could have done without the babies breath and tendrils, but maybe that's like the IT thing in England. Also I really wish i was like 9 months pregnant with a girl and hadn't thought of a name yet...Her name would totally be Pippa.

-Lastly, I think the cake needs a mention. I only included the picture with the baker, because I wanted to make a point. If I was to have ever thought about what the Royal Wedding cake would look like, I'm sure I would have thought it was 13 ft tall and like 500 layers. 6 tiers is all. That's like nothing. I am pretty sure i have been to weddings with cakes bigger than this one. It just proves that Kate is totally normskis like they said. Just your everyday gal. (Yeah right, she was totally rich and pretentious before, duh)
And there you have it. I am purging my brain of all things Royal Wedding now.

-Desperate Housewives and Brother and Sisters should have ended last season.

-I watch Dancing with the Stars now that i have a friend on it.
I never liked the show before and last season i sort of half-ass liked it to support Chelsie.
This season I'm like full on in love with it and am totally mesmerized by the boring dancing.
Also i love when they are awkward, like Kendra. I totally love Kendra.

its about time i did a real braindump

-Roxanne tweeted about Possesionista and its now my go to site whenever i see a show with a dress i love or something. Mainly Possesionista LOVES emily and michelle money from the bachelor and so if you want to look like them (i do) than i suggest you copy everything they buy.

-So i have O blood and I'm going to try and do the blood type diet. You know, feed my blood what it wants....My blood doesn't want gluten, wheat or dairy. But you know what it does want? Reeses. Blood wants what blood gets.

-I always get a cleaning bug. The problem is my cleaning bug doesn't last long enough to get anything fully clean, which just results in more of a mess, or a misplaced mess. Its real frustrating. But at least my bed is in a new spot.

my closet looks nice, but don't be that impressed because there is still crap everywhere.

-Because i decided to "clean" my room, i did ALL of my laundry. Well i know i mention this every time i clean my room (not that often) but i have to buy new hangers every time. This time i had to buy almost 40 new hangers. WHAT THE HELL? TO be fair, when your room is a mess sometimes you step on hangers and break them, but maybe 5. I guess i got 35 new shirts and dresses? I wish i knew. I don't think that's possible.

-Tomorrow is Chelsea Lately day. Going to a taping with my girl, Gabes. It better have a funny guest or I'm going to be pissed.

-I wish i could get tattoo, but i wish it was only semi permanent. Like maybe 2 years. Cause i know after 2 years i would definitely not want the same tattoo i have had.

-Sometimes (all times) I fall asleep with the TV on.
Mostly i never change the channel because im watching stuff that is DVR'd.
I don't know why my TV ever ended up on what appears to be PBS or something like it
but i am so glad it did, because i woke up to this LOVELY workout show.

i think i may start taping this and trying it (not really)
because this lady looks totally thinner than me.
So i think she must be onto something.

-does anyone else besides me feel sorry for the winner of "the Voice?" I know it hasn't even started yet but whoever wins has to be ugly right? That's basically the premise of the show, is it not? The ugly version of American Idol?

-Scream 4 is HILARIOUS.

-The cute little bow-tied gay man who works at JCrew in Century City knows me by name and LOVES me. Like he wants to be friends, and I'm totally into it. He doesn't even get annoyed with me when i just come in to browse (weekly) and don't buy anything. But if you're going to buy something, buy my summer staple.

-Disneyland pass is back in my life. Who wants to go?

-I think I'm going to lighten my hair significantly. Thoughts?

-Saw this guy at the mall yesterday.
He works at the Tmobile kiosk outside the Apple store
and he has AWESOME hair.

and yes, i got that close to him and he never even knew.

-Sometimes i find blogs on twitter and i just laugh and laugh all day.
I want to be friends with her and her.

Went to the Lenka/Greg Laswell show tonight at the Troubadour.
That place is rad.
Its so small, not really a bad seat in the house.
Unless of course, you're 5 feet tall (me), then you are screwed.

Lenka was so darling.
I became a fan tonight.

Greg has such a soothing voice.
His stuff was a little too mellow and melancholy for me, but his voice...its butter.

I LOVE TV.

I'm not afraid to admit it. My DVR is my best friend (not really, that's pathetic).

I'm sick of people saying "oh i dont really watch tv" I'm going to call your BS on that one.
And if its true, i feel sorry for you. You really are missing out.

I read. I like to be outside. I'm social.
You aren't better than me because you don't watch TV. In fact, I'm better than you.

Disney Birthdays!

Yesterday I got to spend the day at Disneyland with one of my dear friends for his 32nd birthday.
(how did i get old enough to have friends that are in their 30's?)

Brandon was my next door neighbor in Provo, when i was 21...he was 26.

Ty, Brandon and I headed down to Orange County for a day of fun, only to meet this gem of a lady on the tram ride into the park.

She was wearing bride ears WITH A VEIL and she had no man by her side wearing the Mickey ears with the tophat.
She was alone.
Part of me wanted to cheer her on but the other part of me just kept thinking "what the weird?"

We got reservations to eat lunch at the Blue Bayou in the Pirates ride.
I've been to Disneyland a bajillion times but had never done this place, and it was so fun and magical!

we got soaked.

iPhone Braindump

I have a lot of stupid pictures on my phone and what else am i going to do with them?
Might as well blog them.

The first time I facetimed, it was with Casey. I was videochatting with Lindsey at the same time, and so we videochatted and facetimed all at once and IT WAS THE FUTURE
I made Sliders.
Like i literally made them by getting ground beef and adding onions and seasoning to it and shaping patties.
I have never shaped patties before and I sort of wanted to throw up.
But they were GOOD.
For work i took a vehicle to a place to have a car seat reinstalled.
This woman did it, it took about 15 minutes, and this was my view for the entire 15 minutes. LOVELY.
This neighborhood "Beverly Park" has 2 gates. 2 guarded gates.
Its insane.
Its the neighborhood that Lisa Vanderpump and Adrianne Malhoof from Real Housewives live.
Denzel Washington, Magic Johnson and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill live here too.
You'll probably never get inside. And i probably saw it for the first and last time, so don't feel so bad.
They took a copy of my drivers license and took my picture. IT WAS STUPID.

Jasey and I were talking the other night about my art skills. I realized i haven't really done anything technical outside of the paintings i sell. He challenged me to draw something in detail so I drew him. I never finished it, but it made me feel good that i could still draw a human face with a number 2 pencil.
Even though I drew a chinstrap (i did finish the beard later) he doesn't have one.

Saturday night was a fancy french restaurant (for my birthday), last night was Wicked, and tonight was Laura Jansen at Hotel Cafe.

oh my gosh you guys, she is the cutest more adorable, loveliest gal.

Jasey is a friend of hers, just finished the illustration of her tshirt even.
So tonight we went to her show.

I'm a total dork. Today I got a hold of the Modern Family addresses, and they are pretty close to me (well the Dunphies, and Mitch and Cam)...and it was such a nice day and i was out already to grab lunch so i just decided to take a jaunt over to their houses.

You know, see if Haley needed any tutoring or if Lily needed a babysitter.

Tonight my best friends here in LA took me out for dinner to Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks.

We then made our way to Magnolia in Beverly Hills for some banana pudding.
It never disappoints.

It was the perfect night. Just what I needed.

Aubrey is a good friend of mine and today she married her lover, Matt.

Chantal, if you come from so much money...maybe invest in a stylist.

my Mardi Gras Chandelier

Our 'Winter Carnevale' ward activity was last night and I was in charge of decorations.

Last year i made about a million tissue paper pom poms, and i wanted to kill myself.
So this year I decided to make things a little bit easier.

The concept I came up with was to make the feel of the activity similar to that of the end of the night at the Mardi Gras parade. Trashed, a little bit wilted...but of course, sober.

My main concern was the chandelier that would dangle above the Dixie band.

So with a base built of PVC pipes and rope, we covered it with garlands, tinsel, balloons, lanterns and crap.

I was too sick to attend the party, but it looks like it all came together great.

Now can I be done with the activities committee yet?

Magnolia and Sandler

Last night after my Valentine's date, I met up with my girlfriends to watch the Bachelor.

We decided before starting it, we would make a quick run over to Magnolia Bakery for some Banana Pudding.Seriously the stuff is from heaven.
Anyway, we weren't the only ones with this idea. It was basically 9pm on the dot, and they were closing up shop....and in walks Adam Sandler and his wife and daughter.

Now, i have met quite a few celebrities since I moved to LA because of my profession and everything, but this one I was excited about.

He left his wife and daughter in the bakery to pick out their treats while he went outside and waited next to their Cadillac.

Us girls, played it cool...walking out of Magnolia with our pudding and acted like we didn't see him and just kept walking to our car parked a few cars in front of his on the street. As we were like 10 feet away, with our backs to him, we hear in his very well known voice "Ladies....what you got there? Ice cream?" to which we respond nonchalantly "no, banana pudding, its delicious." And he then says "I'll have to try that...have a good night"
He totally sought us out. Even strangers dont do that.

love that guy.Anytime you want advice from me on what dessert to try, Adam, let me know.

on the way home we all started laughing as we realized he was probably making fun of 4 girls with what looked like pints of ice cream, at 9pm on Valentines day. Pathetic.

Everyone in my apartment has the stomach flu. Awesome.

Sup, Superbowl?

Remember when people used to say "Sup?" Weird. Glad that phased out.

The Superbowl was yesterday, and who the hell cares? Not me.

I didn't really watch it, and neither did my friends...

ok so maybe April was the only one watching at this point.

I did love all the delicious food, and mostly I loved the delicious food I made.

Here they are folks, Pesto Margherita Tartlets.
(thats the fancy way of saying mini pizzas)

They are so easy to make. I made them last year for the Superbowl and they were a hit so i resurrected them again, and again, they were a hit.
TARTLETS NEVER FAIL.

Here are the instructions:
Set oven to 400
-Mini Pitas (i got mine at Trader Joe's)
-Pesto (store bought, also from TJ's)
-heirloom tomatoes
-fresh basil
-mozzarella
assemble your little guys and pop them on a cookie sheet and into the oven until the cheese melts
About 8 minutes.

THEY ARE SO GOOD I WISH I HAD SOME NOW.

Saturday we braved the chinese crowd, and went right into the heart of Chinatown for
THE CHINESE NEW YEAR PARADE!

It was chaotic and fun, and we had deliciously gross and greasy and dirty chinese food.

it was more fun than i thought it was going to be

everyone was all smiles, and so was i, once i got myself a diet coke.

Lots of confetti, lots of people and lots of fun.

Letterpress

I got a letterpress.i wish it was this one.

But its this janky thing.Which is fine, because its not like I am going to start mass printing anything.
Mainly I got it for my business cards and some invitations to some of the parties i am working on.

I haven't used it yet, because the plates that it comes with are pretty craptastic,
not to mention, ugly...
So i'm waiting for my first custom plate to arrive.

Glory glory, right?

I am really excited.

Feb 1st Brain Dump

I've got about an hour to kill here in Vegas at my sisters before i have to leave for the airport,
so here is a brain dump for ya.

-For Christmas I got my nephews UDraw for the Wii.
Well, it was a bust and super boring, so they took it back for a Kinect game.
WAY BETTER.

Dance Central for Xbox=So fun.
Also exhausting.
The boys love it, and its hilarious cause they know all the words to these songs.
Including Coleman.

-I have been here since Wednesday and have only worn makeup for 2 days.
AWESOME TOWN.

-I did Megan's eyelashes last night and when she went in the bathroom she said
"HOW DO YOU DO THESE SO GOOD?!" Just a little testimonial for ya.
She does eyelashes too, so she gets it.

-I have major iPhone 4 envy.

-My testimony of Zappos grows stronger daily.
Seriously you guys, if you don't shop through Zappos, you are a fool.
Free shipping and you don't even have to leave your house.
They sell more than just shoes. Clothes, makeup...i mean, its my dream come true.

-Jack lost his first tooth today.

And he finished his first chapter book last night. WEIRD.
Hes a kid.

-The Bachelor is easily my favorite show.
Why is it only 2 hours?
I would be perfectly fine watching 4 hour episodes of that show every week.

-I won an ebay auction for a Letterpress last week.
This makes me more excited than anything else.
I have about a million things I want to letterpress.
Xpedx is going to know me by name, soon enough.
I've been dreaming of thick cotton paper.

-Girl Scout cookies are SO good.
'Tis the season for thin mints.

-I think I'm going to start offering a different kind of portrait
on little shop of shavs so stay tuned for that.
Not to mention i think im going to start posting more over there OTHER than paintings.
Kind of a lifestyle craft/design feel.
We'll see.

I guess I'll go pack my stuff now.

I just got these pictures from New Years Eve, and although its almost a month late...
better late than never, right?

This year for New Years we celebrated with a night in at Jasey's apartment.
Stopped by Albertsons for tons of delicious crap food and a couple bottles of bubbly
martinellis for me, of course

I wanted to get dressed up...cause you know, it was New years...
no one else did.
Whoops.

So they've got some neighbors that are Armenian, and like SERIOUSLY straight from Armenia.
It's like an episode of 24 over there, not the Kardashians.
A couple of the neighbor dudes came over with a bottle of Don Perignon

here Mick is modeling the $180 bottle of wine from the neighbors.

we laughed and played board games and watched SNL and it was way better than doing anything else.

As for New Years Resolutions...i keep forgetting to make them.

If one of my goals is to eat more candy than regular food, than i am RIGHT ON TRACK.
